Preschool Teacher, Toddler Classroom (15m-2yrs 9m) - Full Time

Hours & Schedule: Full Time, 40 hrs p/w, Mon-Fri
Location: Dedham, MA

Salary: Starting at $23-$27 per hour based on certification, education, and experience

The DCH Preschool is seeking a full-time Toddler Teacher to join our growing program. We are expanding our preschool services to better support working families throughout Dedham and the surrounding communities.

For more than 50 years, the DCH Preschool has provided children with a nurturing, play-based learning environment rooted in curiosity, exploration, creativity, and connection. Located on the beautiful campus of the Dedham Community House, our preschool is tucked behind a historic mansion and surrounded by unique outdoor learning spaces designed to inspire imagination and discovery.

Children explore two playgrounds, a butterfly garden, music wall, mud kitchen, pebble harp, outdoor learning spaces, and nearly 2,200 square feet of indoor gym space for movement and play year-round.

Our philosophy is play-based, developmentally appropriate, and centered around emergent curriculum. We believe children learn best through hands-on experiences, meaningful relationships, and responsive teaching.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, safe, nurturing classroom environment
• Support the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of toddlers
• Implement play-based and developmentally appropriate curriculum experiences
• Observe and document children’s growth and development
• Maintain positive communication with families
• Collaborate closely with teaching team members and leadership
• Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and safety standards
• Support children with routines including toileting, meals, transitions, and rest time
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development
• Follow all EEC regulations and DCH Preschool policies

Qualifications

• EEC Teacher Certification required
• Experience working with toddlers preferred
• Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Flexible, dependable, and team-oriented
• Passion for early childhood education and relationship-based teaching

Schedule

• Full-time, 40 hours per week
• 8-hour shifts scheduled between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM
