The Senior Web Services Engineer will support the installation and configuration of web server software (e.g., Apache, Nginx, IIS) and related components:
• Maintenance and Upgrades: Regularly update and patch web servers to ensure they are secure and performing optimally
• Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability, ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) by proactively identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and potential issues
• Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures to protect web servers from threats and vulnerabilities
• Backup and Recovery: Manage backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability in case of server failure
• Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, procedures, and policies
• Collaboration: Work closely with development and IT teams to support web application deployments and ensure smooth operation
• User Support: Provide support to users and developers for web server-related issues and inquiries
• Ticket-Based Support: Manage and resolve support tickets in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring user satisfaction
• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by effectively communicating with users and stakeholders, addressing their concerns, and providing solutions
• Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline server management tasks
• Compliance: ensure that web server operations comply with organizational policies and industry standards, maintain compliance with DISA (Defense Information Systems Agency) standards and guidelines
