Merchandise Buyer Position

This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity for a Merchandise Buyer to work on-site in Northern Chicago, IL, five days a week. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in purchasing operations across various product categories, particularly within the wine and spirits industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage a bi-annual procurement plan, ensuring efficient inventory control and cost-effective purchasing.
  • Maintain accurate inventory reports and perform regular analyses on stock levels, pricing, and inbound shipments.
  • Evaluate product assortment, recommending additions or withdrawals based on sales trends and inventory movement.
  • Engage with domestic and international suppliers to secure competitive pricing while upholding production standards.
  • Ensure seamless integration between the internal item catalogue, ERP system, and warehouse records.
Qualifications
  • 35 years of experience in a buying or planning-related role.
  • Proven expertise in supplier negotiation and managing vendor relationships both domestically and internationally.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and inventory management.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reporting and catalogue maintenance.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, procurement, or a related field.
