Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and driven Associate Attorney with experience in criminal law to join our expanding team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling a wide range of criminal matters, from misdemeanors to felonies, and possess the confidence to represent clients in court. This is a great opportunity for an attorney looking to grow professionally in a collaborative, hands-on environment.
Responsibilities:
· Manage a caseload of criminal defense matters from intake through resolution
· Represent clients in court proceedings, including arraignments, hearings, motions, and trials
· Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda
· Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
· Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to develop defense strategies
· Stay up-to-date with relevant legal developments and changes in criminal law
Qualifications:
· J.D. from an accredited law school
· Experience as a Prosecutor or Public Defender preferred but not required
· Member in good standing with the Florida Bar
· 1–3 years of experience in criminal defense preferred (newer attorneys are encouraged to apply)
· Strong courtroom presence and advocacy skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication
· Ability to manage time and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
· Commitment to ethical and client-focused representation
