Description The AirPlay Audio team is looking for an expert developer in media networking technologies and layered system software who, with these skills, will be working to fill our user's lives with immersive audio, pushing the boundaries of media distribution and sonic experiences. As an expert in media protocols like RTP, you will develop and ship new technologies and features for sending audio amongst iPhones, Macs, iPads, HomePods, AppleTVs, and the rich AirPlay speaker ecosystem. You will work with networking, WiFi and hardware teams to ensure the most efficient and highest quality distribution can be achieved. You will take ownership of these technologies and features, finding new opportunities for them to enrich our user’s lives. Responsibilities Integrate and maintain these protocols in AirPlay Audio’s ecosystem Strategize with Networking, WiFi, Hardware and other cross-functional partners on achieve best possible performance and reliability Work with Test and Quality Engineering to ensure highest quality of deliverables Continuously look for ways to improve the efficiency and processes of the team Minimum Qualifications BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent Expertises in network media protocol expertise like RTP and RTCP Experience with congestion control algorithms and techniques C or C++ Multithreading and System Software Preferred Qualifications Experience in audio and other media programming Experience debugging problems in a highly concurrent environment Experience with using and developing media libraries especially for mobile platforms Leadership and mentoring experience Experience with data analytics and visualization tools like Splunk At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $139,500 and $258,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
